Areas Outside of my Specialty:
If during the course of treatment we find your needs are outside of the scope of practice, we will look at referrals to providers with the proper training to make sure your needs and goals are met.
Psychosis, ADHD, eating disorders, substance dependence or situations requiring inpatient or higher level of care
I believe therapy can be deeply helpful when you feel heard, understood, and supported with approaches that fit your individual needs. Therapy cannot remove all pain or difficult experiences, but it can change how you perceive, interpret, and respond to them, allowing them to take up less space in our lives.
I view many difficult emotional and behavioral patterns as understandable adaptations to what you have experienced within your personal, family, cultural, and intergenerational contexts. My approach is collaborative, neuroscience-informed, and grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
You can expect therapy to be compassionate and collaborative. I will listen patiently and nonjudgementally and seek to understand your experiences within the context of your relationships, culture, family and life circumstances.
I will not push you into discussing or processing painful experiences before you feel safe, stabilized and ready to move forward. At the same time, I will gently support you in noticing patterns, trying new strategies, developing greater flexibility and taking meaningful steps toward your goals.
You may begin noticing your emotions and physical signs earlier, understanding why certain situations affect you so strongly, or gaining more space between what you feel and how you respond. You may also recover more quickly after stressful moments, communicate your needs more clearly, establish healthier boundaries, and feel more able to tolerate uncertainty or discomfort.
Ultimately, I hope therapy helps you develop a stronger self-awareness, self-compassion, and freedom to live in a way that feels authentic to you. In simple words, I hope you can gradually come to feel: “I am me. I love me. I can be me.”
