Rates & Insurance
Know Our Rates and Insurance Coverage From the Beginning…
At Kirkland EMDR Counseling, we believe that navigating the cost of therapy shouldn't be a source of trauma or stress. We are committed to complete financial transparency so you can make the best, most informed decisions for your healing journey.
Below you will find our straightforward private pay rates, the insurances we are in-network with, and how you can use your out-of-network benefits.
Our Private Pay Rates
For clients who choose not to use insurance, or who are seeking highly specialized care with maximum privacy and flexibility, we offer clear, upfront private pay rates. Under the federal No Surprises Act, you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate of your expected costs.
Standard EMDR & Individual Therapy (53–60 minutes): $185
Extended EMDR Intensive Session (90 minutes): $275
Extended sessions are highly recommended for EMDR processing, as they provide unhurried time for deeper trauma work and proper nervous system regulation before the session ends.

Using Out-of-Network Benefits
If you have an insurance plan that is not listed above (such as a specific PPO plan), you may still have fantastic out-of-network (OON) benefits that will reimburse you for a significant portion of your therapy costs.
How it works:
You pay the private pay rate ($185) at the time of your session.
We provide you with a specialized medical receipt called a Superbill.
You submit the Superbill to your insurance company, and they mail you a reimbursement check based on your plan's specific OON coverage rates.
We highly recommend calling the number on the back of your insurance card to verify your out-of-network behavioral health benefits before your first session. Our Understanding Insurance Billing for Teletherapy has a list of questions to ask your insurance to check if you have OON coverage.
Payment Policies & Reduced Fee Options
Standard Intake Policy: As part of our universal intake process, we require all clients—including those with Medicaid—to provide a credit card to keep securely on file. Please know that we will only process a charge if a service is not covered by your insurance (such as a late cancellation fee) or if you are explicitly choosing to pay privately for your care. If you’d like to learn more about this policy and how we keep your financial information secure visit our Frequently Asked Questions.
Reduced Fee / Sliding Scale: We firmly believe that specialized trauma therapy must be accessible. We offer a limited number of reduced-fee spots through the Open Path Psychotherapy Collective.
